A site inspection is often required to complete one of these reports due to the non-standard nature of the assessment.

MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
An insurance company would only refuse a claim based on the advice from a engineer. You should be able to obtain a copy of their engineers flood report that was used to rule on the claim. As part of our assessment we would generally review the insurers report. We would work to determine the cause of flooding regardless of the findings of the insurers report. Sometimes we agree with the insurers report and other times we disagree.
We would only prepare a flood emergency management plan if we believe that the risk to the development can be mitigated with the use of an FEMP. For example, sometimes a development should not occur because the risk of isolation, injury or damages cannot be mitigated because there is little warning time prior to a flood event. Site users would be caught unaware and unable to escape flood water and therefore the FEMP would be pointless.
